Marine Corps PFT and CFT scoring guide
The Marine Corps calculator supports both PFT and CFT planning. The site uses the official Marine age groups, including the separate 17-20 and 21-25 groups, and calculates component points from the public scoring bounds for each supported event.
PFT events
| Component | Supported options | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Upper body | Pull-ups or push-ups | Push-ups have a lower maximum point cap than pull-ups. |
| Core | Plank | The plank is scored against the current public Marine standard. |
| Cardio | 3-mile run or 5,000m row | Faster times score higher. |
CFT events
The CFT path covers movement to contact, ammunition can lifts, and maneuver under fire. Movement and maneuver events are time based; ammunition can lifts are repetition based. The calculator also includes a combat-arms PFT option with a higher total pass threshold for planning.
Class totals
Marine Corps class labels are total-score labels. A strong total does not replace event minimums, and official recording can depend on exemptions, waivers, and test-administration rules that the calculator cannot validate from a static browser page.
